    This week in class

We’ve had a busy and engaging week in class, and it’s been wonderful to see the children so enthusiastic about their learning!

In English, we have been exploring a new story together, focusing on developing our descriptive writing skills. The children have worked hard to include exciting vocabulary and have begun planning their own short narratives. We’ve also spent time practising our handwriting and reading in small groups.

In Maths, we have been continuing our work on number, with a focus on addition and subtraction. The children have been using practical resources and problem-solving activities to deepen their understanding, and it’s been great to see their confidence growing.

Our Science lessons have been full of curiosity this week as we explored the topic of plants. The class enjoyed observing different types of leaves and discussing what plants need to grow. We even started a small class experiment, which we’ll be monitoring over the next few weeks.

In Topic/History, we’ve been learning about life in the past. The children asked some thoughtful questions and enjoyed comparing how things have changed over time.

We’ve also had lots of creativity in Art, where the children experimented with colour and texture to create their own pieces inspired by nature.

Outside the classroom, the children have taken part in PE, focusing on teamwork and coordination through games and activities. It’s been lovely to see everyone encouraging one another.

As always, we continue to promote kindness, respect, and independence in everything we do, and the children have really demonstrated these values throughout the week.
